How to wear gingham print?

Hello, friends! How are you? How is your summer going?

In the last post, I wrote about my Six favorite summer trends (I highly recommend you to read it).
And so I found a piece that combines two of these trends: Oysho gingham blouse with open shoulders (actually, you can wear it two ways: classic and with open shoulders, depends only on what you combine it with and your mood).

Let’s talk some more about gingham print. It’s ambiguous and confusing. Yes, yes, many girls just do not risk to wear gingham, because it is very bright and eye-catching by itself, and styling it can be a tricky thing, especially if you don’t have a preppy or girly type of style? And, to tell the truth, before this print could be found only on tablecloths.

So, how to dress a gingham print and not look like a girl wrapped in a picnic tablecloth? Here are some tips:

  1. Combine it with the denim. I will not hide the fact that everything looks good with denim clothes (or almost everything). Combine blouses and tops with denim skirts, shorts and jeans. Dresses – with denim jackets.
  2. Don’t go too far with prints! If you are not confident in your sense of style, it’s better to be careful and not to combine this print with others. Choose calm, one-colour shades.
  3. It all depends on the silhouette. Choose bright and playful silhouettes. Rompers, slim fit and baby-doll dresses, blouses with full sleeves – let the silhouette catches your eye!

I combined my Oysho gingham blouse with Zara asymmetrical shorts and Guess
Jalyn Logo Espadrilles.

I love the way you styled this gingham top with a the simple yet chic shorts and flats! A refreshing way to rock the gingham in my opinion. I’m not a huge fan of gingham dresses, but I would definitely invest in a top like this 🙂
